Hetkinen states that its products are made with 100% natural ingredients, are vegan and biodegradable. Pine, birch, juniper, spruce, moss and resin appear repeatedly across the range, alongside glass and wooden components used in selected packaging and home-fragrance products.

JDV currently carries seven Hetkinen eau de parfums across four scent profiles. Woody: Forest Riot is the clearest conifer expression in the group, built around pine, silver fir and black spruce. Chaos is also woody, but moves from juniper into patchouli, sandalwood and cedarwood, giving it a drier, deeper direction. Smoky: Majime uses chamomile, myrrh, cedarwood and ambrette. It is warmer and more resinous than the two woody perfumes. Floral: Magda combines lavender, grapefruit and ambrette. Summer Seizure brings Finnish white rose, neroli, lavender, pink pepper and vanilla, with a brighter and more overtly floral character. Citrus: Amuse Air starts with sweet orange and lemon before jasmine, neroli and lavender. Bling Mul opens more sharply with yuzu, lime and ginger, then settles into birch wood, ambrette and apricot. Choosing scent for a room

Hetkinen makes scent diffusers, room sprays and candles. The main difference is how and when fragrance enters the room. A scent diffuser releases fragrance gradually and stays present over time. JDV carries Pine Forest, Ikigai, Shinrin Yoku, Archipelago and Other Summer. A room spray works on demand. Pine Hyss is useful when you want to change the room immediately rather than maintain a constant background scent. A candle works differently again: the fragrance develops while it burns. Choose the format first, then use the scent profile to narrow the options.

When to choose a candle

Hetkinen candles are made with olive wax and are designed to release fragrance gradually while they burn. They make the most sense when you want scent for a defined period rather than continuously.

The four candles currently at JDV also show how Hetkinen's scent-profile system carries across product types. Smoke Sauna is smoky, with eucalyptus, birch tar, pine wood, cedarwood, resin and reindeer moss. Biofilia sits in the citrus profile, led by lemon, birch leaf, pine and eucalyptus. Spruce Resin is woody. Happy Holidays is spicy, built around tangerine, cardamom, cinnamon, clove, vetiver and vanilla.

Hand wash, hand balm and body oil

Hetkinen also carries scent into products used at the sink or directly on the skin. JDV stocks Pine Heartwood and Wabi-Sabi hand wash, Pine, Birch-Xylitol and Juniper & Chaga hand balms, and body oils in Pine, Elderberry, Chantarelle and Lichen. This part of the range makes sense if you like Hetkinen's scent language but do not necessarily want a perfume or continuous home fragrance. Hand wash is the simplest entry point. Balm stays more personal and close to the skin, while body oil makes scent part of a larger body-care routine.

First decide where you want the scent: on the body, in the room, or within a care product. Then use the scent profile to narrow the range. For perfume, profile matters most.
