Manz Contour Hojicha Cup
Arita, Japan · 1616 / arita japan × Richard Manz (Contour Collection)

Emerging from the Japanese-Danish intersection of craftsmanship and design, the Manz Contour Hojicha Cup reinterprets mid-century ceramic forms through contemporary poise. Originally called the “apple cup” due to its gentle curves and early hand-painted detailing by Bodil Manz, this cup seamlessly blends into everyday rituals while carrying a quiet legacy of legacy.

Conceived by Danish ceramicist Richard Manz and brought to life by his daughter Cecilie Manz, the Contour series spans two shapes—this Hojicha Cup and its Tea Cup counterpart. Made in Arita, Japan, it marries Scandinavian sensibility with the structural grace of thin, durable Arita porcelain.
