Designed to make steaming part of everyday cooking, the KAJIdonya Steaming Basket lets you prepare vegetables, fish, dumplings, and other steamed dishes using a regular frying pan - no bamboo steamer or dedicated steamer required.
Simply place the basket in a frying pan of 24 cm or larger, add a small amount of water, cover with a lid, and steam. The coarse 4-mesh stainless steel surface drains well, keeping food lifted above the water so ingredients steam cleanly without becoming soggy.
With around 150–200 ml of water, vegetables sliced to about 5 mm thick can be steamed in approximately 5–6 minutes. Once cooked, the basket can be lifted out using the side handles and placed directly onto a plate for serving. It is also useful for draining fried foods or removing excess oil from ingredients such as aburaage.
The removable feet make cleaning easier when needed, while the stainless steel construction offers durability for frequent use. A recipe and instruction sheet is included for basic steaming methods and simple cooking ideas.
