The scents

Aomori Hiba - 青森ヒバ

Clear, fresh, and quietly familiar.

Made with essential oil and wood powder from hiba grown in Aomori, the scent opens with a crisp freshness before revealing a subtle sweetness and an earthy undertone. Evocative of cool forest air, damp ground, and the familiarity of timber.

Kitayama Sugi - 北山杉

Composed, woody, and gently warming.

Made with cedar essential oil and wood powder from Keihoku, Kyoto, this is a refined expression of Japanese cedar - clean and calming, with a natural warmth that settles gradually into the room.

Kousaido Natural Premium Incense
Kyoto, Japan · Kousaido

A forest, held in scent

Kousaido’s Natural Premium collection begins with the tree itself.

Made with 100% natural aromatic materials and no added dyes, the incense brings together essential oils, finely milled wood and rare natural resins. Each composition is shaped by the character of its material, allowing the scent of the tree to remain present and recognisable.

The collection seeks to hold something of being among trees - the clarity of a deep breath in the forest, and the sense of ease that comes from being surrounded by wood and earth.

Rather than recreating nature through fragrance, it begins with nature itself.
